Watch Out - More People Are Being Charged With Felonies

The report showed that the number of adults charged by Dakota County with a felony of any type in 2011 increased by 17% when compared to 2010. However, the number of adults charged by Dakota County with felony DWI in 2011 increased by 35% over 2010. The report demonstrates an increase in prosecutions and the level of charges being levied.

In Minnesota, a felony is defined a crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one-year.
